Wedding party: the gluttons
I have had a lot going on lately, that’s why I haven’t been updating.
However, Wedding party ππ Gist is back and better.
So on the 12th of this month, I attended a wedding at Abuja, karu precisely. There was no church wedding I guess they did the registry already. So that day was for the traditional marriage (popularly known as engagement by the yorubas) . The traditional marriage was supposed to start by 8, but it was raining so we had to chill because the venue for the engagement was outdoor, in a hotel premises, when the rain subsided the event kicked off. The engagement was anchored by @https://www.instagram.com/alariina.alaga/ , the event was going on smoothly till the weather started to change, people started to pray so it doesn’t rain. I was like π, yo! I believe God is there to answer our every request no matter how flimsy they are but sometimes it’s good to cut Jesus some slacks and do the right thing, and the right thing should have been them getting a mini reception hall in the first place,

So,, before the prayer could get to the stable of God the rain started π€¦πΎ♀️. I wanted to cry π. It’s not my wedding but every one deserves a beautiful wedding and a conducive atmosphere too. To make matters worse the decorators did a shabby job by not putting a tent over the couples chair. I mean who does that?? As a decorator you should think π€ beyond your clients because you are the professional. Loro nkan sha (to cut the long story short) rain beat the couple ehn we tried putting umbrella it wasn’t helpful. So I suggested that we go inside the hall that was close by but the groom’s family were like, no ooo let’s do everything sharp sharp and finish, of course you would say that because they were sitted under a canopy π.In my mind I was like “ the babe neva enter una house you want to start suffering herπ” . The rain increased, so we all moved to a mini hall. The event continued and finally came to a successful end. Caterers started serving food, and you all know that’s one of the best part of any occasion π. Food was passing my front, I was seeing food everywhere but those waiters didn’t look towards our side, one woman beside me was shaking her leg and head lol. Finally somebody notified the caterers and they started serving us. They brought amala with gbegiri, ewedu and stew and meat of course. Suddenly, I heard that woman that was shaking her leg called the waiter, “pls bring me another plate of amala, I have been here since morning, this amala you brought won’t be ok for me” wow! Madam was already asking for a second plate when she was not done with the one in her plate. O jami Lara je. The lady came back to tell her there was no food. In my mind I said “ good for you adaku olounje iya”
Now the reception,
The couple had a beautiful entry. The bridal party were all shades of awesome. I couldn’t help but smile and clap while the flower girls and the page boys danced in uniform. It was so beautiful. The bridesmaids and the grooms men were not left out. I enjoyed every bit of the entry. The bride didn’t dance much but the groom danced so well.while I and other children of God were busy gushing over the bridal party someone else was busy feeding herself and her bag with the small chops and drinks on the table, people of the world π€¨. I don’t know how you come to a party with a selfish mindset, I was mad at her you know but I had to calmly ask her what happened to the drinks and small chops. She said “ don’t worry they will bring more when they see the table is empty” ππ½♀️ mhen... I was shocked. Are you kidding me?? Madam are you eating on behalf of your generation?? Anyway thanks to the MC who carried everyone along, so I was able to forget madam gluttony for a while. Honestly, bouncers shouldn’t be made to check only invitation by the door, there should be food bouncers, that’s my suggestion though. Because this kind of people are always in your party.
Anyway that was the end of party for me because my BAE called me.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post. Pls I would love to see your comments! Thank you π
