Holidays: why you should let your kids do their holidays somewhere else

Hi parents and guardians! It’s another holiday and you all are thinking of how to make the holiday fun for your kids. Holidays should be an avenue for the kids to learn, grow, have fun, interact with people and gather new experience. How will your children get all this? By letting them do their holidays at a family’s place, family friend, etc people you know will impact the life of your kids.
     While growing up, my parents made it compulsory to go for holidays at my cousins place or our family friend’s place, it use to be bittersweet experience because we use to find it difficult to adjust and adapt to their style of living. Holidays help your children learn how to adjust to any kind of environment fast.
    When they go to other people’s place they get to know that there is a different side to life. at home we eat breakfast at 7am or 8am but when we went on holiday at my cousins place we ate at 11am, you see the difference?? it was like punishment but we had to adjust. it built our survival instinct. it made us value our family more.
    Education wise, when ever we were going for holidays my mum would put our school results sheet in our box, so that my cousins would go through the results and help us study the subjects we had deficiency in. so, my cousins had the special mission of teaching us. those were my worst moment though, because i always had the lowest score in mathematics, i hated mathematics with so much passion, my cousins were not having it they were determined to make me know it.
     The point I am trying to make is ... Let your children explore under your watch so you know what they are capable of.
Traveling exposes them to different people, places and helps them unfold new characters. Characters you are not comfortable with, you discourage it. The one that is good you encourage them to continue. Loving your children is not by locking them up in the house.
     One of the major benefits of letting your kids go on holidays is the ‘me time’ you get to have. You have time for yourself, your husband and your business if you run one.
      Another benefit is that, you don’t have to go to a family function before you start introducing your kids to every family sitting at the event, Going on holidays helps build bonds.

Souvenir robbers at weddings

People will not seize to amaze me at weddings. I am reporting live from a wedding I attended today, it’s the wedding of one of my favorite uncle. I was enjoying every bit of the wedding 👰 until it was time for presentation of  gifts 🎁,. I never knew village people were around ooooo, this woman saw the souvenirs they were going to share to those that had gift for the couple and madam did not come with any gift.  So I used my side eyes to be looking at her to know her next action. Wedding! Wedding!! Wedding!!! Wedding this days are becoming very interesting especially here in Nigeria, many spend their life saving on their special day but is it really worth it, many even go to the extent of borrowing not minding the embarrassment it will cause them if they can't pay Back early. Many who ain't working end up throwing that responsibility on their families n friends.             You don't have to spend all your savings just to impress people, you can spend less and still have a classic wedding. I have seen weddings Where they spent so much and at the end it was a flop. I have also seen couples who spent so much on their wedding just to impress relatives and friends, but the reality is that, you can't impress everyone!               Finally, don't let your wedding cost you your marriage!

Must you catch the bride's bouquet at a wedding?

Biko it's not compulsory, Ah Ah some ladies just end up embarrassing themselves all in the name of catching flowers. Some even go to the wedding reception prayerfully, like Seriously?? On top wetin. Though I heard from the oyinbo perspective it brings good luck, that is, the bride will get married soon too.         I remember one wedding I attended, and at the reception the MC called the single ladies out for the bouquet throwing, Hnmmmmm I just saw the chief brides maid changing the bouquet to one wretched flower like that,in my mind I was like that flower can only bring badluck. Why they don't throw their bouquet again I don't know. Wharefa it's not my business. That reminds me of one flower I saw a bride holding, that one looked like a mixture of bitterleaf and ugwu leaf with ribbon at the end. To every bride getting married today May God bring you unending joy in your marriage. Amen!

Let me say my own, now before we start hearing stories that touch the armpit from the stable of madam rose merger, that was how a certain Miss X will not allow us to hear word about Mr X who was her korikosun ( love of her life). Mr X bought me this, bought me that. In fact she and Mr X locked the love in Paris but they scattered the something in Nigeria. Now to my point, if you don’t want the world to jump into your business stop using smileys to cover their face, let the picture remain in your phone Biko. What is it sef, when you will quarrel now you will open your privates just to show us how much he hurt you.
